In July 2021, Kingston’s Climate and Ecological Emergency Response Plan was endorsed to guide urgent action.
Their ultimate target is:
- net zero community emissions by 2030
- net zero by 2025 for our own emissions
To have the biggest impact in the shortest time, the priority areas they have identified are: low carbon living, future proof industry, sustainable transport, transforming council, capturing carbon and adapting to climate change.
