This article tells the story of Southern Cross University academics who assisted during the Lismore floods, taking matters into their own hands and leading individual disaster recovery. It also details the ways Southern Cross University is becoming more attentive to the disaster resilience needs of the Lismore community, including establishing resilience hubs and resilience services looking to meet medium-term challenges of climate change.
